Grant founded Capital Underwriters in 1992 with Darren Cooke and Michael Riley, following a long tenure within the Canadian leasing and financing industry. Grant is a Managing Director of the company.

Grant is an expert in Energy Retrofit financing, with 14 years' experience in all sectors of EPC and Facilities Management project financing. His customers include Energy Service Contractors, Energy Service Customers, and HVAC Manufacturers and Distributors.

Grant is also an expert in structured finance and long term contract receivable monitization for the public sector. He has consulted on large retrofit projects for some of the largest governments and utilities in the country.

Grant holds a B.A. from McMaster University.
